1. EKOR Potassium Humate

EKOR Potassium Humate

A multipurpose new generation preparation based on humic substances – organic compounds with a complex physical and chemical structure that have a wide range of biological effects, are environmentally friendly and safe to use.

The preparation is made of lowland peat using a unique method, the main elements of the production line are dispersers and steam reactors. The original pulp passes through the reactor, a colloid solution is formed from peat with simultaneous processes of extraction, solution, disintegration of cell structures, destruction of cellulose, followed by recombination at the molecular level. The process occurs at a low temperature and is accelerated by dispersion. The unique technological approach allows biologically active natural ingredients, trace elements and macronutrients to be saved and accumulated and subsequently stabilize due to a negatively charged humus acid.

The produced preparation contains more than 30 elements of mineral and organic substances, including all essential trace elements, 20 amino acids, and also vitamins. In addition, the preparation includes a number of trace elements – destructors of organic substances (spore bacteria, mold fungi, actinomycetes, cellulose-decomposing bacteria). After coming to the soil, the trace elements activate the processes of humification of organic and woody residues (cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin, proteins), as a result of which the soil is additionally enriched with humus and nutrients in a form accessible to plants.

The preparation has been examined by scientific organizations of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, is included in the State Catalog of Pesticides and Agrochemicals Permitted for Use in the Territory of the Russian Federation and recommended for use in agricultural enterprises and private subsidiary farms.

3. Effects of the preparation on plants and the soil

3.1. EKOR and seeds
It is necessary to start using the preparation at the pre-sowing treatment of seeds and planting stock. The treatment improves the immune system of seeds, prevents the superficial seed infection, reduces the negative impact of injuries of plant seeds, increases the energy of germination and sprouting of seeds, stimulates the growth and development of shoots, significantly reduces the damage from fungal diseases caused by internal seed infection.

3.2. Mechanism of action on plants
The effect of EKOR on plants is complex and multi-step and lasts for the entire growing season.   First, a certain amount of nutrients - nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, sulfur, calcium, trace elements, vitamins, amino acids and growth stimulating substances - penetrate into the plants.   Secondly, when entering the plants, humic substances activate the enzymatic activity of all plant cells and the formation of stimulating compounds inside the plant. This increases the cell energy, changes the physicochemical properties of protoplasm and intensifies the cell metabolism. The permeability of the root cell membrane increases. The penetration of nutritional elements from the soil solution into the plants increases. This leads to increased absorption of nutrients by the plants. In addition, it improves the supply of sugars, amino acids, vitamins, water plants from the soil and the absorption of oxygen by plants, which ultimately intensifies the respiration of plants. The intensified respiration leads to accelerated cell division, increased photosynthesis, protein synthesis, growth of the root system, above-ground mass, yield of dry matter and, therefore, an increased general plant activity.

3.3. Effects on the root system
The treatment of seeds with the preparation results in better development of the root system. This secures the plants in the soil, increases their ability to withstand strong wind and washing down as a result of abundant precipitation, erosion processes and other natural phenomena. The more developed the surface of the roots is, the more intensive is the flow of nutrients to plants. The treatment enhances the synthesis of amino acids, sugars, vitamins in the root system. Some substances synthesized in the roots and in the plant as a whole are released through the roots into the soil. More intensive metabolism of the plant and more powerful roots result in more root secretions, more intensive development of the diverse microflora of the soil that feeds on such secretions.   And on the contrary, substances that dissolve in the soil under the influence of plant root secretions can be the source of plant nutrition. Acids released by the roots (carbonic, malic and others) actively influence the soil (dissolution, displacement of absorbed ions). Moreover, plants produce enzymes that participate in the decomposition of organic compounds in the soil. As a result, under the influence of root secretions, the nutrition of plants with phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron and other nutrients is improved.

Phosphorus is unavailable for most plants with a weak root system, as it is difficult to access and is not very mobile, the use of EKOR improves both of these factors. A powerful root system of plants, which rapidly develops under the influence of the preparation, absorbs phosphorus well and “gets” it from the entire arable layer. After use of the preparation, there is a clear trend of increasing the content of mobile phosphorus, exchangeable potassium, assimilable nitrogen in the arable layer.

Due to the powerful root system, the plant manages to penetrate into deeper layers of the soil and capture moisture, which is especially important in arid regions.   Moreover, the use of EKOR contributes to a more rational use of moisture by plants during the entire growing season until harvesting.

The yield of any agricultural crop is provided both at the level of a single cell and at the level of a plant organism as a whole, by a number of various processes: permeability of root cells; the rate and efficiency of photosynthesis; the efficiency of movement of substances in the plant; the activity of enzyme systems. The use of EKOR increases the performance of these components. But to obtain high sustainable yields, it is necessary for the soil-absorbing complex to have a sufficient amount of nutrients in an easily accessible form. So, in order to increase the yield it is necessary to combine the treatment of seeds and plants with the treatment of the soil.

The amount of crop also depends on a high growth rate of foliage, which can be achieved by treating plants with the preparation. The “air nutrition of plants” is intensified, which, in turn, leads to an increase in yield.

The use of EKOR intensifies the general metabolism in plants and growth processes. It increases the nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and carbohydrate metabolism. The preparation multifold increases the absorption of potassium and nitrogen fertilizers that are easily soluble in water. This allows to reduce the dose of nitrogen and potash mineral fertilizers by 30%. This is also the case with phosphate fertilizers, if the EKOR preparation is introduced into the soil.

Humic compounds of the preparation are capable of enhancing the protective functions of the plant organism, which primarily manifest themselves under extreme conditions (high or low temperature, drought or excessive moisture, insufficient amount of light and oxygen in the soil, accumulation of toxic chemicals).

The use of EKOR weakens or completely neutralizes the toxic and mutagenic effects of pesticides. Due to it, plants better tolerate excess doses of fertilizers, especially nitrogen and higher doses of pesticides.

The range of crops, which showed an increased yield after the use of the preparation, includes: cereals, potato, corn, vegetables, sunflower, sugar beet, fruit and berry plants, grapes, citrus, ornamental plants, etc.

The use of EKOR has a beneficial effect not only on quantitative indicators of growth, but also on the quality of plant products. It increases the content of vitamin C, carotene, riboflavin, neocin. In various crops the increase may be 25 to 100%. It also increases the content of proteins, starch, nucleic acids, sugars, which has a positive effect on the quality of agricultural products.

3.4. Trace elements
Another major component of plant nutrition are trace elements: copper, zinc, boron, manganese, molybdenum, cobalt, etc. The preparation contains a whole range of valuable trace elements and transports them to plants in the most effective way, generating complexes with trace elements that are easily absorbed by plants (chelates).

3.5. Role of enrichment of the soil with humus
The introduction of the preparation into the soil is a powerful catalyst for biochemical processes in the soil and its biological activity.   This is due to the fact that the organic matter of the preparation is used by the soil microflora as a source of energy and nutrients. EKOR contributes to increasing the number of spore bacteria, mold fungi, actomets, cellulose bacteria, its use causes not only quantitative, but also qualitative changes in humus. The newly formed humus has a high biological activity, improves physical and chemical properties of the soil.

3.6. Improvement of physical and chemical properties of the soil and soil nutrition of plants
The use of the preparation improves physical and physico-chemical properties of the soil, its aeration, water and temperature regimes. Humic acids contained in the preparation, together with the mineral and organic-mineral particles of the soil, form a soil-absorbing complex, which contributes to the soil absorption capacity. Due to the use of the EKOR, humic substances, enveloping and sticking together mineral particles in the soil, contribute to the creation of a water-resistant lumpy-granular structure that improves the water flow and water retention capacity and air permeability of the soil.

The preparation molecules are included in the soil structure and contribute to a drastic increase in the soil exchange capacity. Adsorbed forms of nutrients do not bind to the soil, are not washed out by water and are in a condition accessible for plants. All useful trace elements of the preparation form chelate complexes in the soil and then penetrate into plants, providing them with nutrition, while iron and manganese are absorbed exclusively as humic complexes.

3.7. Ecology of croplands
The main active ingredient of EKOR are humic acids that have a gelation ability. Due to this quality, the treatment of soil improves its water-holding capacity, which is especially important in arid regions. On the other hand, the preparation helps to retains favorable properties of the soil after intensive irrigation for a longer time, including when high doses of mineral fertilizers are used.

Soils, to which the drug is regularly introduced, are resistant to chemical pollutants: radionuclides, heavy metals (lead, mercury, chromium, cadmium, etc.), pesticides, after the use of the preparation harmful compounds are bound, forming insoluble complexes, which prevents them from penetrating into plants, ground water and atmosphere.

Modern plant growing is impossible without the use of various pesticides needed to control weeds, pests and plant diseases. This causes a number of negative phenomena: the soil microflora dies, physiological functions of plants are deteriorated. Plant accumulate poisons that adversely affect the human life. The introduction of the preparation into the soil stimulates the activity of microorganisms and contributes to accelerated decomposition of pesticides in the soil.   At the same time, it increases the resistance of plants to chemicals and accelerates the decomposition of chemicals in plant cells. The introduction of EKOR in the soil eliminates negative effects of high doses of mineral fertilizers, especially nitrogen ones.

3.8. Combined use with pesticides and other preparations
The efficiency of pesticides is mainly explained by control of diseases, weeds and pests. But due to their toxicity, they can significantly reduce the yield of the main crop, which they should protect. Since the preparation is an environmentally-friendly anti-stress agent, it can neutralize this effect. When used in combination with fungicides, it increases the efficiency of the treatment due to excellent adhesive properties in addition to being an anti-stress agent. The preparation increases the suppression of pathogens by 20-50% depending on the level of infection of seed.    Its use is also possible during the growing season, which also gives an immediate effect, as it enhances the action of pesticides and stimulates the immune system of plants, increasing the natural resistance of the plant organism to diseases. When using heavy tank mixtures, the drug reduces the stress of plants without suspending their development and growth (in particular, this effect is observed in sugar beets and grain crops).

The preparation can be used together or in combination with fertilizers and plant protection agents, biologics and growth regulators (this significantly increases the yield of crops). To reduce costs for the treatment of plants, it is recommended to use the preparation as an ingredient of tank mixtures together with plant protection agents and soluble fertilizers for scheduled measures.
